To hell with 2015! The 80s are what it’s all about and this is our ultimate love letter to all you deathrash maniacs. The worship begins with the very cover picture. It’s a snap from 1982’s horror nasty “The Slayer”, the movie that inspired Jon Kristiansen to name the greatest underground metal fanzine of all time Slayer Mag.

This one goes out to him.

We wanted to start the New Year in style with the rawest and most brutal sounds we could possibly unearth. To our knowledge there’s nothing quite like 84-87 metal so we summoned your total death right from that most unholy period. For the most part. There’s a lot of demo quality stuff here and if you don’t like that you can just FOAD.

SATAN MADE ME DO IT wishes all you open minded thrashers a damn good year. We can only hope to contribute some of that good through our continued assaults. Do play it loud. It’s not just a catchphrase, you know? It’s common sense.

We’ve never done a thrash heavy SATAN MADE ME DO IT episode, believe it or not. It’s fucking crazy now that we think about it, since it’s well documented how thrash is metal’s core genre. Sure, there’s plenty of it in most of our episodes, but looking back at it we still feel we lack a more thrash oriented 45 minute tracklist. That has to do with the fact that we like to keep things freestyle, but also with our special knack for black and death flavors.

An amateur’s mistake, we’re afraid to say, but one we promptly fix with this TALES OF THE MACABRE episode (a reference to the Slaughter track of course). STILL! This is us. There’s some other stuff thrown in there for good measure. Some death, some heavy. It’s all good fun.

We tried to be as less obvious as possible while still throwing a bone or four your way just so it’s not all name dropping.

Your duty, as always, is to PLAY IT LOUD! The rest will naturally fall into place. SHOW NO MERCY!

The kind of moon that rouses that which should not be. For while there’s a devastating beauty in losing yourself in thoughts and feelings under such a celestial body, do not be fooled: there’s nothing blue about this moon.

Ocean waves may scare you, crashing wildly and loudly into the shore, making you lose your balance, pounding you uncontrollably into the sandy bottom. But as powerful as the roaring waves are, you know that the greatest danger, the scariest violence, the hungriest of deaths, lays down deep below the surface. There’s a sense of menace when you look at the vastness of the deep-sea; it’s what you don’t know, what you can’t predict and control that terrifies the most.

Such is life. There’s nothing more frightening that what lies under the surface, in the abyss, masquerading as the ordinary, lying there under the ripples of everyday life and everyday people. Remember this when listening this week’s episode. And trust us, it’s gonna be much easier on you if you just PLAY IT LOUD!

“Imagine some foul and putrid corpse that has lain rotting and decomposing in the grave, a jelly-like mass of liquid corruption. Imagine such a corpse a prey to flames, devoured by the fire of burning brimstone and giving off dense choking fumes of nauseous loathsome decomposition. And then imagine this sickening stench, multiplied a millionfold and a millionfold again from the millions upon millions of fetid carcasses massed together in the reeking darkness, a huge and rotting human fungus. Imagine all this, and you will have some idea of the horror of the stench of hell”.*

This episode has the stench of rotting human fungus and is dedicated to James Joyce who, we know for a fact, was the biggest Slayer fan.

We came to this episode with no preconceived idea or particular direction discussed at the outset – except for what the first track would be. The result, we like to think, feels very much like a live set, probably more so than any other episode so far (by the way, feel free to hire us to DJ at your birthday party or wedding, christening and bar mitzvah ceremonies). Which means there is a lot of free flowing raw energy and a general sense of in-your-face metal. You can almost smell the stench of sweat and beer invading your nostrils. This is a GOOD thing! A bit more thrashy too this one. So move away the furniture at home and prepare to SLAM IT LOUD (no helicoptering  or windmilling or whatever stupid kids are doing these days)!

“Like howling dogs I sing.” We went ahead and spoke to darkness to conjure up this one. That doesn’t mean this is a particularly crushing SATAN MADE ME DO IT episode; it’s just the weirdest sounding one we ever did. It was a conscious decision. And honestly, we are in love with the end result.

This episode is as freestyle as it gets. There’s black metal, industrial, hardcore, grind and old stuff that is *still* ahead of time. You’re not afraid of a little experimentation, are you? We don’t want this relationship to become stale…

PLAY IT LOUD! Kick and scream. Break a dish or two if you have to. This is only the beginning.

An aching heart. Pretty much everyone knows the feel, but when it strikes us harder it’s as if nobody but us really knows just how it feels. Love truly is a funny thing. It can fill you with butterflies, itch where it tickles the most and blind you silly. And it can beat you to your knees and keep you down for as long as you allow it. This Satan Made Me Do It episode takes you on that special trip where emotions run wild and reason sits on the bench.

There’s something for everybody: a little hope, a little despair, a little peace and a little hell. Alas, when the demon knocks at your door there’s no knowing what’s in store for you.

Well, nobody can accuse us of not being Metal enough. Last episode we had nails all over, now we have Hammers, Axes and even Bulldozers. Ready to drill and maim, YEAH!

Behind all the mentioned utilities is a set of quite diverse songs which runs heavier and atmospheric styles such as Doom and Black, more energetic crusty tracks and even manages to revisit some much-loved classics.

The image is clear: this episode will quite simply feel like a mighty hammer driving a big sharp, rusty nail into your forehead. It will wage war into your living space, each track a shrapnel grenade ready to render your headphones into smithereens and giving a new meaning to the drum in eardrum – such is the beating it is ready to inflict, rattling like a Browning machine gun sweeping the horizon. And if at any time you feel the intensity is relaxing a bit, be careful: the episode will most likely be back thirsting for more.
