Rádio Quântica – Satan Made Me Do It #19 x RUI VIEIRA (Miss Cadaver / Baktheria / Machinergy) [+tracklist]

Well, this was one hell of a show. For starters, we come back with another special guest. RUI VIEIRA, that’s right: he’s big game on the Portuguese underground scene thanks to a bunch of projects like Machinergy, Baktheria and Miss Cadaver. So he came. And he talked. About that new fresh album from Miss Cadaver, about his horror short movie inspired on his hometown’s folklore, while sharing with you some of the tunes that shaped his taste and career. Our chat with Rui (hour TWO of the show) is in Portuguese, but there’s enough classic songs in there to keep you going if you’re not from these shores.

Metal and Hardcore are two faces of the same coin for Rui, so on hour ONE of the show it just made sense for SATAN MADE ME DO IT to pave the way with mainly good metal-punk stuff. You’ll like it and that’s a promise.

Rádio Quântica – Satan Made Me Do It #15 [+tracklist]

HERE IT IS. It finally happened. This one took some time to get uploaded. Sorry for that.

First show of 2017, recorded at the Rádio Quântica studios in Lisbon. No guests, just us doing and talking shit. Pretty much very freestyle this one. We looked back not in anger, but in love and awe with some of the tracks we played and prized the most in 2016 and played them AGAIN. But there’s also a bunch of new fresh stuff you’ll be mad not to listen to.

We start the show in a shadowy, menacing but overall enjoyable tone, go full party mode right after, and somewhere along the way end up in a really dark, slow, depressing place only to get back again on our feet and just run free. Tears of sadness, tears of anger, tears of joy. Wild mood swings. Pretty epic stuff. Enjoy!

Episode 45 – Fitzcarraldo

Episode 45 – Fitzcarraldo (right click to download)

It’s a DJ’s cliché to say your set sounds like a “journey”, but fuck it, that’s exactly what SATAN MADE ME DO IT tries to achieve a lot of times. This episode is, we think, a fine example. It starts really slow, moody and easy, then building up, song after song, to a level of intensity that will reach its peak in the end and hopefully leave you feeling challenged. Dont’ take it too seriously, though.
We came up with this “climbing progression” when thinking about “Fitzcarraldo”, Werner Herzog’s movie from 1982 where the mad German director carried a 300 ton steamship over a hill in the Amazon. The movie production was almost “Apocalypse Now” stuff of legend. Go watch it.
